The virus, the Novel Coronavirus, began infecting people in Wuhan, China in December. There are now 30,811 cases worldwide and 635 dead. (30,570 of the cases are in China.) Numerous Chinese cities with a total population of over 50 million people (including Wuhan) are under full or partial lockdown to help stop the spread of the virus. There are now 12 cases in the US and new cases in Taiwan, England, Germany, Singapore, and elsewhere.
